1. Dr. Chew Fong Peng
Dr. Chew Fong Peng received her B.A.(Hons) (1996), Master of Arts (1997), and Doctor of Philosophy (2004) in Malay Study from National University of Malaysia. She is currently lecturer at Faculty of Education, University of Malaya (UM).
Presented approximately 125 working papers in international conferences in Malaysia and foreign countries include United States of America, United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Greece, Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Philippine and Indonesia. Published 5 books, 65 articles published in journals, 58 papers in conference proceedings, 32 chapters in books, 15 translated books including creative writings, and creative writings. She also the editor for international book, namely Taylor and Francis group besides became the editors for the national school text books in Malaysia.
Her research interest are Malay Language and Literature in education, Chinese Language and Literature in education, sociolinguistic, intercultural and translation. Dr. Chew has completed 14 research projects which 6 of them were led by her.
Dr. Chew won the “The World Outstanding Researcher” award (2013). She also won many medals in academy and innovative expo. UM Outstanding Service Award (2008), being listed in Marquis Who's Who in the World 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2000 Intellectual in the World for 21st Century Year 2011.
Dr. Chew is article reviewer for some international journals, namely The Asia-Pacific Education Researcher, International Journal of English & Literature (IJEL), British Journal of Medicine and Medical Research, British Journal of Education, Society and Behavioral Science (BJESBS), International Journal of Psychology and Counselling (IJPC), Educational Research and Reviews (ERR) and African Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology (AJPP) besides some local journals. Besides that, Chew invited as Malay poem reciter at state and national level.
Chew was invited as visiting professor at Peking University from October, 2011 to June, 2012 during her sabbatical leave.
2. Dr. Fonny Hutagalung
Fonny Hutagalung received the B.Sc. in psychology, Master of Industrial and organizational Psychology, and Doctor in Psychology from National University of Malaysia in 1996, 2003, 2011, respectively. She is currently Head of Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling.
Her research interest are Psychological testing, Cognitive abilities in Early Childhood, Human Development, behavior analysis, trauma in early childhood and etc. She also takes responsibility for the teaching and learning portfolio and also conducting an psychological testing and assessment for the undergraduate and post graduates students. She oversees local and international undergraduate and post graduates student matters and has recently with her team, developed a comprehensive student advisory system for the faculty.
Her most recent books are ‘Research in Early Childhood Education (2016)’ and ‘Introduction to Social Psychology: Perspective and Knowledge (2016)’. Dr. Fonny Hutagalung also the Editor for international books such as Taylor and Francis group Social Sciences and Inter-disciplinary (2016) and The Role of Service in the Tourism & Hospitality Industry (2015); Editor for Springer and a Guest Editor for international journal such as Advances Science Letters.
Dr. Fonny Hutagalung is an active lecturer and researcher which had more than 20 research articles that has been published in Scopus Journal. She is also member of Malaysian Psychological Association, International Council and Asian Psychology Association.
3. Sasan Adibi Ph.D
Title: Non–Invasive Paradigm in Health Informatics Well-being and Disease Monitoring
Abstract – Technology assisted systems have recently been used to help with diagnosis and prognosis of diseases and health conditions. One class of such systems fall under the umbrella of non–invasive methods, which includes sensing devices used to track and monitor diseases without the use of invasive means (needles, incisions, ruptures, etc.). Non–invasive sensing is gaining a lot of market momentum and penetrating into various applications in the healthcare/consumer markets. This talk takes a look at a whole range of non–invasive devices and approaches targeting fitness, vehicular informatics, disaster recovery systems, and disease management.
Biography – Sasan Adibi (BS'95, MS'99, MS'05, PhD'10, SMIEEE'11) has a PhD degree in Communication and Information Systems from University of Waterloo, Canada and the recipient of the best PhD thesis award from the IEEE Society. He is currently involved in the research, design, implementation, and application Electronic Health (eHealth) and Mobile Health (mHealth). Sasan's research publication background is mostly in the areas of Quality of Service (QoS), Security, and eHealth/mHealth. He is the first author of 70+ journal/conference/book chapter/white paper publications and is a co–editor of four books, two of which are in the areas of mHealth and the other two books are in the areas of 4th Generation Mobile Networks and QoS. He is an inventor/co-inventor of 4 patents in the areas of Health Informatics. He has 9+ years of strong industry experiences, having worked in a number of high-tech companies, including: Nortel Networks, Siemens Canada, BlackBerry Corp., WiMAX Forum, and Huawei Technologies. He is the founder and managing director of Cyber Journals and serving as Cyber Journals Health Informatics Associate Editor. He served as a Vice Chancellor Research Fellow at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) at the Department of Business IT and Logistics for two years. He is currently a faculty member in the School of Information Technology at Deakin University.
